The Awareness of Social Inference Test - Short (TASIT-S) (PDF)DescriptionPDF Version of The Awareness of Social Inference Test - Short Manual.
The Awareness of Social Inference Test – Short (TASIT-S) is designed to provide a brief assessment of social cognition in people with acquired brain injuries, neuropsychiatric and developmental disorders. It uses videos of actors in everyday situations. It is suitable for use by speech pathologists and clinical neuropsychologists to assess aspects of social cognition for diagnostic, management, and treatment purposes. TASIT-S comprises three parts. Part 1 measures the ability to categorise emotions while Parts 2 and 3 use probe questions to assess the ability to understand feelings, thoughts, beliefs, and intentions of the speakers as well as what they are mean by what they say (pragmatic inference). TASIT-S has normative data for around 620 Australian speakers (aged 13 to 75+) and 180 adults from the USA.
